In 1976, Postal codes for Spain were introduced and standardized by the Correos (the national postal service of Spain) to introduce automated mail sorting. The first two digits of Spain Postal Code (ranging 01–52) correspond to one of the fifty provinces in Spain. The fifty provinces and two autonmous cities on the African coast are listed below.
